WELL-- the colors on this boi were definitely a journey! I was worried about joining the color schemes without just throwing stuff on there... I'm pretty happy with how he turned out!
He's kind of at war with himself where he tries to be cool but he's always worried that it's stupid and pointless. He wants to do everything and has anxiety about the possible consequences of his actions. Overall, he has a lot of fun while fused. (<-- me trying to mesh their personalities)

So basically homeworld thought they were like defective weirdos so they wanted to send them away but since sapphires are like royalty they couldn't just ditch them.

So basically homeworld thought they were like defective weirdos so they wanted to send them away but since sapphires are like royalty they couldn't just ditch them.
They decided to assign ruby as Phios bodyguard and just tried to keep them out of the way. Ruby brought out the fun in Phio and they liked to cause mischief around homeworld.
One day ruby got a "brilliant idea" and took Phio somewhere secluded and said "hey you know how like we fuse to make bigger stronger versions of ourselves? ...well, what would happen if two DIFFERENT gems fused!?"
Phio got pale at the thought. Such a repulsive idea really... but on the other hand he was very curious....
So they fused and became Garnet: an awkward fun loving guy who seeks adventure. They loved it but only did it in secret so the diamonds wouldn't get angry.
Until one day they were caught! So Garnet brushed his hair over his sapphire gem and pretended to be "an experimental super ruby" built to be a tank. The homeworld idiots were easily fooled but as soon as news made its way to the diamonds, they were appalled.
So, Phio and ruby took the first ship they could find and landed on earth were they heard tell of a resistance with free gems

Color/shading: 7/10. Your coloring and shading is good, clean. I would suggest adding more highlights to things like clothes or skin to introduce a sense of light source and shiny-ness.
Anatomy: 9/10. For your style, I think your anatomy is very good! Just keep doing what you do 
Composition and visual attraction: 8/10. The color palette is dark, which would be executed fine if you balanced the colors right, but instead, they just seem kind of muddy and blend in way too much. This could be due to the color of the markers you use, so I don't blame you if that's why.
Subject matter and originality: 9/10. Very cool and unique take on a gem. Despite being a fancharacter, it still possesses originality and creativity.
Final rating: 8.6/10. Congrats! Your style is very nice and cute. Just keep working on coloring. Can't wait to see you improve <3
